WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. – At Fellowship Community in Whitehall, the feeling is festive.
Even though for some, it’s a workday. But for folks like Melissa Adams, there’s no place they’d rather be.
“I had to choke back tears a couple of times today,” said Adams. “Some of them actually break down into tears because they just feel so loved and remembered in the moment.”
And Adams is not alone. George Pierce works in culinary.
“I think to be helping people that you know in the later stage of their life is really cool to be able to do it,” said Pierce.
And in between serving residents meals, he and his wife Cheryl serenade them.
Even though she’s enjoying the music, Sherice Cordova is making sure everybody gets their meds.
Cordova says there is nothing quiet like Christmas at Fellowship. Because at Christmas you want to be with family.
“It’s like you’re home away from home. It really is,” said Cordova.
Be it the family you are born with or the family you choose.
